Drones hit Russian oil refinery and chemical plant in Saratov and Tatarstan

Ukrainian drones attacked two Russian industrial facilities overnight into July 8 — a chemical plant in Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan and an oil refinery in Saratov, according to Governor Roman Busargin.

Damage to “civilian infrastructure” from the attack was reported by the official. The Saratov refinery, owned by Rosneft, can process 5 to 7 million tons of oil per year and is one of the oldest in Russia. It was last hit at the end of May.

In Nizhnekamsk, drones struck the Nizhnekamskneftekhim petrochemical complex, causing a fire.

In Voronezh Oblast, drones also targeted a local military airfield that hosts Russian Su-34, Su-35, Su-30SM fighters, and other aircraft.

Additionally, Rostov Oblast Governor Yuri Slusar said drones damaged two tankers in the Taganrog Bay. He claimed there was no fuel aboard the vessels.
