Russian forces launched ballistic missiles and dozens of drones at Ukrainian regions overnight, with air defenses downing or suppressing 72 attack drones, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.

The air targets were launched from both temporarily occupied territories and from Russia itself.

The aggressor fired two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from Crimea, while 94 strike drones of Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas types, along with decoy drones of the Parodiya type, came from the directions of Bryansk, Millerovo and Oryol in Russia, occupied Hvardiyske in Crimea and Donetsk.

Ukrainian air defenses, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, drone systems and mobile fire groups, repelled the aerial assault.

As of 8:30 a.m., air defenses shot down or suppressed 72 Russian drones in the north, south and east of the country. Two missiles and 19 drones struck 13 locations, with debris falling at four sites.

Consequences of the attack

Drones hit Kherson Oblast. In the Beryslav district, the enemy struck a residential building, killing a 72-year-old man. In Kherson overnight, Russian forces dropped explosives, wounding two men aged 51 and 46.

“After an emergency medical team arrived at the scene, Russian troops attacked the medics’ official vehicle again. As a result of the strike, three emergency medical workers were wounded — doctors aged 38 and 49, and a 50-year-old driver. All the victims were hospitalized and are receiving necessary medical care,” the regional prosecutor’s office said.

Russian forces also attacked Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Regional military governor Ivan Fedorov said 52 settlements were hit over the day with aircraft, multiple rocket launchers, artillery, and drones.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Russian forces struck three districts with drones, artillery and aerial bombs, the regional military administration reported. Residential buildings, a school, vehicles, farm structures, and a gas station came under fire.
