Russia Attacks Ukraine With 2 Ballistic Missiles, 65 Drones Overnight
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with two ballistic missiles and 65 strike drones overnight on August 18-19, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.
As of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 56 Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones across the country’s north, south, and east. Two Banderoľ loitering munitions were also intercepted.
The Air Force recorded strikes at 10 locations, while debris from downed aerial targets fell at three locations.
In August, Ukraine’s Air Force began limiting the information provided in its morning reports. It no longer gives exact figures for ballistic missiles that were intercepted, suppressed, or otherwise failed to reach their targets during large-scale attacks.
Bloomberg previously reported that the change came as Ukrainian air defenses have struggled to intercept Russian ballistic missiles amid shortages of Patriot interceptors.
