Russia attacks Ukraine with 162 drones; mother and 4-year-old daughter killed in Chernihiv
On the night of August 26, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 162 drones. Air defense forces neutralized 134 drones.
Russia launched 162 drones at Ukraine overnight and early on Aug. 26, including Shahed attack drones and jet-powered variants, the Ukrainian Air Force said. Air defenses shot down or suppressed 134 drones, while strikes were recorded at 18 locations.
In Chernihiv, a Russian strike hit a private home, killing a 39-year-old woman and her 4-year-old daughter. The woman’s 14-year-old daughter was injured and hospitalized, according to local authorities.
The attack also caused casualties and damage elsewhere. Two people were injured in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, while Russian attacks over the previous day killed one person and injured 12 in Kherson Oblast and injured nine in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
