Russia attacks Ukraine with 121 drones, most Shaheds jet-powered

Ukrainian air defenses shot down or suppressed 96 drones across the country's north, south, east and center as of 8 a.m. The Air Force recorded strikes at 11 locations and debris from intercepted targets falling at eight more.

The Kh-59 missile, launched from airspace over the Black Sea, failed to reach its target. Russia also deployed Herbera drones and Parodiya decoy UAVs, launched from Russian territory and temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine.

The attack was repelled by Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups.

In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Russian drone, artillery and guided bomb attacks caused fires and damaged a business in Pavlohrad district, according to regional authorities. A 38-year-old man was hospitalized in moderate condition.

Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding district over the past day killed two people and injured three others. Authorities received 43 reports of damage to homes, vehicles and infrastructure.

A drone also struck a fire and rescue station in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, damaging the building, a fire engine and a car. No rescuers were injured, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said.

The Air Force said the attack was still ongoing as of its morning update, with around 10 Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
