Russia launches 161 drones at Ukraine, including 82 jet-powered UAVs

The attack began at around 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 and involved Shahed strike drones, Herbera and Parodiya decoy drones, as well as Banderol and Dan-T UAVs launched from several locations in Russia and Russian-occupied Ukrainian territories.

As of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had downed or suppressed 119 Shahed, Herbera and other drones, as well as three Banderol or Dan-T UAVs.

The Air Force reported strikes at 18 locations across Ukraine, while debris from intercepted drones fell at eight locations. It said the attack was still underway, with Russian drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.

Kyiv came under repeated waves of drone attacks throughout the night after strikes on the capital began Tuesday evening. At least eight people were injured during the evening attacks, while another person was reportedly injured in the city's Darnytskyi district on Wednesday morning.

Damage was reported across several Kyiv districts. Fuel tanks caught fire in Obolonskyi district, while a warehouse and a gas station were damaged in Holosiivskyi district. A transport infrastructure facility was hit in Darnytskyi district, where a fire also broke out on the roof of a gas station.

In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian strike hit a shopping mall on Tuesday evening, injuring two men and causing a fire on the building's roof. A man was also killed in a separate Russian drone strike on the nearby settlement of Kushuhum, according to regional authorities.
