Russia attacks Kyiv and region with missiles, 188 drones, killing three
Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with several missiles and 188 drones, killing a child in Kyiv Oblast and two women in the capital. The Kyiv region was the main target of the attack, according to Ukraine's Air Force.
Of the 188 drones launched overnight, 86 were jet-powered. Russia also used Zircon/Oniks anti-ship missiles and Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles.
Ukraine's air defenses intercepted or suppressed 160 aerial targets, including five missiles and 155 drones, the Air Force said. Strikes were recorded at 18 locations.
In Kyiv, two women were killed and four people were injured, one of whom was hospitalized, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Damage was reported in four districts of the capital. Warehouses and private homes were damaged in the Podilskyi district, while fires broke out at several locations in the Sviatoshynskyi and Holosiivskyi districts. Falling drone debris caused a grass fire in the Solomianskyi district.
In Kyiv Oblast, a child was found dead under the rubble of a destroyed private home in Vyshhorod. Rescuers pulled three other people from the debris, including another child.
Homes, vehicles and warehouses were also damaged in the Vyshhorod, Bucha and Obukhiv districts.
