Ukraine strikes Russian plant producing batteries for missiles and guided bombs, military says

Ukrainian forces struck a factory producing batteries for Russian missiles and guided aerial bombs in Yelets, Lipetsk Oblast, damaging a production workshop and causing a fire, Ukraine's General Staff reported on October 26.
The strike on the Energia plant took place on October 25–26 as part of a series of Ukrainian attacks on facilities supporting Russia's weapons production.
According to the General Staff, Energia manufactures batteries for Iskander-M ballistic missile systems and sea-launched cruise missiles.
The Ukrainian military also identified the factory as Russia's sole producer of batteries for guidance and correction modules fitted to aerial bombs.
The General Staff said the strike would complicate Russia's production of power supplies for missiles, guided bombs and other weapons.
The full extent of the damage and its impact on production have not been independently verified.
Ukraine reports damage to other Russian military-linked facilities
The General Staff also released updated assessments of several earlier strikes.
At the Proton-Electrotex facility in Oryol, struck on October 23, Ukrainian forces destroyed the main microchip production workshop and damaged a building and servers, according to the military.
The General Staff said the damage would disrupt production of components for Russian cruise and ballistic missiles.
In the Russian-occupied Donetsk area, an October 23 strike damaged three buildings used to prepare and equip attack drones, as well as one launch rail, the military reported.
Ukraine also reported damage to the Togliattikauchuk chemical plant in Tolyatti, Samara Oblast, following an October 24 strike.
According to the General Staff, a technological pipeline, two butyl rubber production units and a distillation unit were damaged. The military said the strike targeted a supply chain associated with the production of solid rocket propellant.
The Ukrainian military described the attacks as strikes against facilities supporting Russia's war effort.
Independent confirmation of the reported damage at the facilities was not immediately available.
