Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau takes shelter in Kyiv metro amid Russian attack threat

Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, best known for playing Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, took shelter in a Kyiv metro station on October 28 amid the threat of Russian missile and drone attacks.
Reuters photographs show the actor riding the subway and setting up a folding cot on a station platform, where Kyiv residents regularly seek protection during Russian air raids.
Coster-Waldau was visiting Ukraine to draw international attention to the country's continuing need for support, particularly as winter approaches.
"It's all about raising awareness and making sure people don't forget that there's a country that's holding up well but needs help from the international community, especially now that winter is coming," he said in a video shared by India Global Review.
Kyiv's underground metro stations have served as public bomb shelters throughout Russia's full-scale invasion, with residents often spending hours there during overnight attacks.
