Russia attacks Kharkiv; Ukrainian Forces liberated plant in Vovchansk: September 24 highlights

Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence units liberated Vovchansk Aggregate Plant

Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (GUR) units completely liberated the territory of the Vovchansk Aggregate Plant in the Kharkiv region and destroyed the occupants in all the premises of the plant. The GUR noted that the operation was “extremely challenging.”

“The Russians turned the aggregate plant into their propaganda “fortress," involving the most motivated and professional units in its defense,” Ukraine’s Intelligence said.

Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with eight KAB guided bombs on September 24, killing three people and injuring 34.

Russia hit two apartment buildings in the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts as well as a civilian baking enterprise.

Ukrainian MP Artem Dmytruk detained in the UK

Fugitive Ukrainian MP Artem Dmytruk has been detained in the UK. Dmytruk told The Independent that Zelenskyy allegedly demanded his extradition and that he is ready to appear in court to fight this request.

The MP fled the country after the Ukrainian Parliament passed the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate in August. Dmytruk claims that he is being prosecuted for political reasons for his views and his support for the UOC.

Biden calls on to support Ukraine during his final address at the UN General Assembly

Joe Biden delivered his final address as US president at the UN General Assembly.

Among other things, he emphasized that the world now has another choice to make: “Will we sustain our support to help Ukraine win this war and preserve its freedom or walk away and let aggression be renewed and a nation be destroyed?”

"I know my answer. We cannot grow weary. We cannot look away, and we will not let up on our support for Ukraine, not until Ukraine wins a just and durable peace," said Biden.

US once again refuses to allow the use of its weapons against Russia

The US says that Ukraine has not provided “compelling arguments” for the US to allow the use of its weapons to strike deep inside Russia, The Washington Post reported.

According to US officials, Kyiv should focus on destroying targets in Crimea. Strikes on Russia are not worth the risk of escalation.
