Dozens of drones attack Moscow city and suburbs. Russian authorities report one dead and injured
A massive drone assault targeted Moscow and surrounding areas overnight on March 10, starting around 4 a.m. local time, Moscow Oblast Governor Andrei Vorobiev said. By 6 a.m., Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported 69 Ukrainian drones shot down over the region.
Vorobiev confirmed one person died and three were injured in Leninsky urban district (Vidnoye town) and Domodedovo (Yam village).
Debris from downed drones hit a high-rise in Ramenskoye, damaging at least seven apartments from the 19th to 22nd floors on Northern Highway, he said.
Local media reported damaged railway tracks near Domodedovo station and a fire at a company parking lot in Domodedovo. Flights were suspended at regional airports, including Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo, Zhukovsky, and Domodedovo.
By 7:30 a.m., Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed it intercepted or destroyed 337 Ukrainian drones nationwide, including 91 over Moscow Oblast and 126 over Kursk Oblast.
Drones were also downed over Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Lipetsk, Oryol, Voronezh, and Nizhny Novgorod oblasts.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova linked the attack to a visit by a high-ranking foreign delegation, including the OSCE secretary-general. Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported Steve Witkoff, a Trump envoy for the Middle East, plans to meet Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
