Readiness for ceasefire, restoration of US aid: results of meeting in Saudi Arabia

Negotiations between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations concluded in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, March 11, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Presidential Office.
The United States committed to immediately restoring military aid and intelligence sharing to Ukraine.
In turn, Ukraine expressed readiness to accept a U.S. proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire, which the Presidential Office said the U.S. will communicate to Russia.
The talks also covered humanitarian efforts, including prisoner-of-war exchanges, the release of detained civilians, and the return of forcibly displaced Ukrainian children.
Both sides agreed to form negotiating teams and start talks at once to secure a lasting peace. The Ukrainian delegation stressed that European partners should be part of the peace process.
Meeting between Ukraine and the USA
The meeting followed a public spat between the Ukrainian and U.S. presidents at the White House and a pause in U.S. military support.
Ukraine’s team included Andrii Yermak, head of the Presidential Office; Andrii Sybiha, foreign minister; Rustem Umerov, defense minister; and Pavlo Palisa, deputy Presidential Office head.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Saudi Arabia separately to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
