Polish authorities discovered debris from seven drones and one object of "unknown origin" on the country's territory, Interior Ministry spokesperson Karolina Galecka said on Wednesday, according to TVN24.

Galecka specified that as of 11:00 a.m., seven drone fragments were found: five in Lublin Voivodeship, one in Łódź Voivodeship, and one in Olesno, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

She added that an object of "unknown origin" was discovered in the village of Wyhalew in Lublin Voivodeship.

Lublin police spokesperson Andrzej Fijołek said the investigation is ongoing, and no injuries have been reported.

Russian drones over Poland

Overnight on Tuesday, Russia launched drone and missile attacks on Ukraine, with several drones entering Polish airspace. Polish and allied forces used weapons from aircraft to counter the drones, marking a first.

Poland’s Operational Command called it an "act of aggression," noting dozens of targets, some potentially threatening.

Four Polish airports were temporarily closed, and territorial defense forces indicated they might shorten reservist call-up times in some regions, particularly those bordering Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at least eight Russian drones entered Poland, urging a "strong response" from partners.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported 19 airspace violations, the first involving drones from Belarus.

Poland requested NATO consultations under Article 4, which calls for collective discussion when a member state perceives a threat to its territorial integrity, political independence, or security.
