Russian air defenses reportedly struck a residential building in Krasnodar early March 18 during an overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the region, killing at least one person and damaging multiple homes, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev and Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeny Naumov reported.

In Krasnodar’s Prikubansky district, a drone hit an apartment in a multi-story building, sparking a fire that killed the resident.

Three houses were damaged overall. In the Western intra-city district, drone fragments landed on a balcony with no casualties or infrastructure damage reported.

Debris also hit the roof of a medical center and a power line, causing partial power outages in the Yubileyny microdistrict.

Local authorities advised against sending children to school due to the “turbulent situation.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed 85 Ukrainian drones were intercepted or destroyed overnight, including 42 over Krasnodar Krai.
