Witkoff plans Ukraine peace talks in Norway and Russia this week - Reuters

US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to travel to Norway this week for another round of negotiations on ending Russia's war against Ukraine, followed by talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Reuters reported on October 19, citing people familiar with the plans.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is also expected to attend the meetings in Oslo, according to two of the agency's sources.
The talks could bring together Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, representatives of Britain, France, Germany and Poland, as well as the European Union and NATO.
Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, who was expected to participate, is reportedly ill and plans to join remotely.
Witkoff is also expected to travel to Russia for a meeting with Putin, two sources told Reuters. The discussions are expected to cover the war in Ukraine and the possible release of Stephen Hubbard, an American citizen imprisoned in Russia.
The schedule remains tentative and could change.
The planned meetings come amid growing tensions between Washington and Kyiv over US military support, including reported delays in air defense deliveries and restrictions on Ukraine's access to the Starshield satellite communications system.
On October 19, Zelenskyy said the delays suggested that a political decision had been made to slow US support for Ukraine. American officials have denied the allegations.
Reuters also reported that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had yet to authorize the latest package of US weapons purchased by NATO allies under the PURL initiative. However, its source could not confirm whether the package included Patriot interceptor missiles.
The previous round of US-Ukrainian negotiations took place in Miami on October 9 and ended earlier than initially planned.
