Russia attacks energy facilities in five regions of Ukraine

Russian forces struck energy infrastructure facilities in five Ukrainian regions overnight into Monday, the Energy Ministry reported.

Attacks hit the Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odesa and Donetsk oblasts. Repair and restoration work is underway at the damaged sites.

The ministry said rolling blackout schedules and capacity limits for industrial consumers and businesses are in effect around the clock in most regions.

More about the attacks

Russia hit Odesa Oblast's port and energy infrastructure with drones, damaging port equipment and several civilian vessels at berths; one person was injured.

Infrastructure Minister Oleksii Kuleba said that strikes on critical infrastructure in Donetsk Oblast left about 30,000 subscribers without water and another 20,000 without heat; restoration efforts continue.

In Kharkiv Oblast's Izyum district, enemy strikes damaged power lines. Russian troops also fired two missiles at Balakliya in Kharkiv Oblast, killing three people and wounding 13, including four girls aged 12–17.

In Chernihiv Oblast's Mena territorial community, drones struck two energy facilities; one caught fire. Several settlements are currently without electricity, regional governor Vyacheslav Chaus said.

Over the past day, Russian troops attacked more than 100 times across 39 settlements in Sumy Oblast, damaging an infrastructure facility in the Sumy district, the regional administration head Oleg Hryhorov reported.
