Missile in Poland, Medvedchuk's new movement in Russia and PACE's “historic decision”: today’s highlights
In the north of Poland, the wreckage of a missile with Russian inscriptions was found. Viktor Medvedchuk created the political movement Other Ukraine in Russia. PACE recognized the deportation of Ukrainian children as genocide. We have collected the key news for today.
Missile in Poland
The wreckage of an unidentified military object was found in northern Poland. According to media reports, these are the remains of an air-to-ground missile. It is not known how long it had been in the forest: several days or several weeks.
As noted, inscriptions in Russian were found on the wreckage. The missile was missing a warhead.
Krzysztof Zasada, a journalist for the Polish media outlet RMF FM, unofficially found out that the missile was not the result of shelling from abroad, but could be the wreckage of Polish military equipment.
Medvedchuk's new “movement”
Viktor Medvedchuk, a close associate of Russian President Putin, who is accused of treason in Ukraine, began to form the political movement “Other Ukraine” after being exchanged to Russia in exchange for Ukrainian soldiers.
According to Skhemy, “Other Ukraine” is not officially registered in Ukraine or Russia as a political party, public organization, or intellectual property. Despite this, fugitives with Ukrainian citizenship join the movement. Some have been involved in criminal proceedings in Ukraine related to separatism and high treason but have not been punished. Some are wanted by Ukrainian special services.
Former Minister of Education Tabachnyk is running for “deputy” of the occupiers
Former Minister of Education Dmytro Tabachnyk is running for local “deputies” in the occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The website of the Russian ruling party United Russia states that Tabachnyk is an "advisor" to the so-called head of the occupation administration of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region. Tabachnyk is listed as non-partisan.
PACE recognizes the deportation of Ukrainian children as genocide
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in its resolution noted that the forced transfer of Ukrainian children to Russia is a crime of genocide.

According to Ukrainian representatives, the PACE resolution is the first time that the term “genocide” has been used about the actions of the Russian Federation in an official document of this level. Not all PACE members are countries that have ratified the Rome Statute, which issued the arrest warrant for Putin. Therefore, the adoption of this resolution expands the range of countries where Putin is officially considered a war crimes suspect.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that this decision will significantly help the global effort to bring Russia and its officials, including Putin, to justice for their genocidal policy against Ukraine.
Putin authorizes the deportation of Ukrainians from occupied territories
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the possible deportation of residents of the occupied territories who have renounced Russian citizenship and “pose a threat to Russia's national security”.
The decree applies to residents of the temporarily occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson Oblasts, including those who have moved to Russia but want to retain their Ukrainian citizenship.
The second Patriot division is already in operation
The Commander of the Air Force of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, said that the second division of the American Patriot air defense system is already in operation.
“They say there is a General Staff ban on selfies in front of the equipment! Sorry, I couldn't resist! We are strengthening air defense! We are bringing victory closer!” he wrote.
