Russian drones strike Ukraine-Moldova border crossing, killing 2
Russian drones struck the Starokozache international border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova overnight on Sept. 9, killing two people and injuring three others, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said.
The drones hit infrastructure at the border crossing and the surrounding area, sparking a large fire. Buildings were damaged, while buses, trucks, and passenger cars were destroyed.
Emergency workers evacuated 16 people from the crossing and transported them by bus to a safe location for temporary accommodation.
The processing of people and vehicles at the crossing has been temporarily suspended, according to Ukraine's State Border Guard Service. Ukrainian authorities said they had informed the Moldovan side about the situation.
