Man kills 5 with axe, hammer at IDP school in Rivne Oblast
A 72-year-old man from Donetsk Oblast killed five people with a hammer and an axe during a domestic dispute at a school housing internally displaced persons in Sudobychi village, Rivne Oblast, Ukraine’s National Police reported on Tuesday.
The suspect lived in the abandoned school building alongside other IDPs.
Around 4:15 a.m., a social worker contacted police after hearing screams. Responding patrol officers found the attacker at the scene and detained him.
Four victims died immediately from their injuries: men aged 60 and 68, and women aged 81 and 78, all from Donetsk Oblast. A 56-year-old woman from Kirovohrad Oblast also died.

The suspect faces charges under part 2 of Article 115 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (premeditated murder of two or more persons). The investigation is ongoing.
