DIU: Russian ship Serpukhov destroyed from inside by a Russian who sided with Ukraine

In April, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted an operation against the Russian small missile ship Serpukhov. As it turned out, it was destroyed from the inside by a Russian Baltic Fleet serviceman who had sided with Ukraine.
This was reported by representatives of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Freedom of Russia Legion.
The Legion representatives said that in 2023, the then current Russian military officer, pseudonym Goga, contacted them through the DIU's I Want to Live project. As a member of the Russian Baltic Fleet, he had access to state secrets.
According to Radio Liberty, Goga set fire to one of the most modern missile boats of the Russian Navy from the inside and stole secret documents.
“For a long time, at the risk of his own life, he provided the Legion with important information. After his stay on the ship and further work in favor of the resistance forces became threatening, active actions inside the ship were planned and carried out. As a result of the sabotage, it was possible to destroy the ship' from the inside, as well as its communications and automation equipment,” the Legion representatives said.
Ukrainian special services took Goga out of the territory of Russia together with secret documents, the DIU said.
It should be noted that Serpukhov is a small missile ship of the Buyan-M project. It is the fifth vessel in this series. Construction began in 2013 and the ship was launched in 2015. The Serpukhov is capable of carrying a variety of weapons, including Kalibr cruise missiles or Oniks supersonic anti-ship missiles.
The ship was stationed at the Baltiysk naval base in the Kaliningrad region of Russia. As noted, the ship was heavily damaged as a result of the fire.
