Russia launch missiles at Ukraine as explosions rock Kyiv

On the morning of July 8, explosions rang out in several regions of Ukraine and the capital, Kyiv. The Air Force warned about the launch of cruise missiles, reported the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At first, they reported the threat of using ballistic weapons from the south. Later, missiles were recorded in Kirovohrad Oblast, Cherkasy Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, Zhytomyr Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and other regions.

Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko reported on the work of the Air Defense Forces in the suburbs of Kyiv. Later, explosions rang out in the capital itself. After that, a team of doctors was called to the Solomyanskyi district of the city, says Klitschko.

Three people were injured in the Russian missile attack in Kyiv. The fall of debris was recorded in six districts of the capital, Mayor Klitschko and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko said. One of the victims was hospitalized. Two others were treated on the spot. According to Klitschko, the authorities are also checking the information about one person who died.

The city's military administration reported falling debris in the Solomyanskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Holosiyivskyi districts. First, there is ignition. Information about the destruction and victims is being clarified. Later, there was also an explosion in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city, the mayor said.

In addition, a series of explosions were heard in Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro. Local Telegram channels are posting videos of what they say is smoke billowing from the city after the missile attack.

"An attack on Ukraine at a time when there are the most people on the streets. The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, commented: "Russian terrorists are obsessed."
