Lukoil oil depot hit in Sochi, one killed in drone attack

Drones targeted Russia’s Krasnodar Krai overnight, hitting the city of Sochi, according to Mayor Andrey Proshunin.

He reported that air defenses operated over the Black Sea, with debris from allegedly downed drones falling on a Sochi street. The Krasnodar Krai’s operational headquarters stated that one person died due to the falling debris.

Russian sources reported that a drone attack struck an oil depot in Sochi’s Adler district, a claim confirmed by Dmitry Plishkin, head of the Sirius federal territory.

The oil depot belongs to Russian oil company Lukoil.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that 39 drones were shot down over the country overnight. Ukraine was blamed for the attack, but Kyiv has not commented on the incident.
