Ukrainian strike damages Russian large landing ship in Novorossiysk port

Ukraine's security and defense agencies damaged a Russian Project 1171 (Tapir) large landing ship docked at a naval base in Novorossiysk port, preliminary data shows, a source told hromadske.

The operation was conducted by Ukraine's Security Service, Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Special Operations Forces, Unmanned Systems Forces, State Border Guard Service and Navy coastal missile-artillery troops.

Overnight, they struck multiple military and logistics sites in the port — Russia's second-largest oil export hub and main base for its Black Sea Fleet — using long-range drones.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces confirmed hits on the Sheskharis oil terminal and the Tuapse refinery in Krasnodar Krai.

Preliminary information indicates the Novorossiysk strike damaged oil-loading berths and a launcher from an S-400 air defense system stockpile.

More on the overnight strikes

The General Staff said strikes in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, hit the Beriev Aviation Scientific-Technical Complex (TANTK) repair plant and the Atlant Aero Molniya drone production facility. Multiple explosions and major fires were reported at the sites.

The Beriev TANTK strike likely damaged an experimental A-60 aircraft. The plant also handles repairs and upgrades for A-50 AWACS planes and Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers.

The strikes used Ukrainian reactive drones Bars and Neptune cruise missiles.
