Two young Ukrainian servicewomen, Kara and Lyza, killed by Russian drone near Zaporizhzhia

Two Ukrainian servicewomen with the callsigns Kara and Lyza were killed together by a Russian drone strike while evacuating wounded soldiers on the Zaporizhzhia front, their company commander Serhiy Volkov of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade’s ground robotic complexes unit reported.
Volkov described the women as close friends and “sisters-in-arms”.
“They rescued the wounded, studied, took on difficult tasks, and helped the front lines as well as anyone else. […] Today we buried them. This is not the end, the struggle continues, and evil will be punished," he wrote.
Kara, who survived Russian occupation in Kherson Oblast, filtration procedures and abuse by Russian forces, “still joined the ranks to defend Ukraine until her last breath.”
Lyza was the first in the unit to enlist under the contract program for young people aged 18–24.
"She mastered the GRCs. Quiet, bright, strong. Genuine," Volkov wrote.
