Russia launches 196 drones and missiles at Ukraine, with 177 neutralized – Air Force

Russia launched 196 aerial assets at Ukraine overnight into Friday, including ballistic missiles and drones, while Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 177 of them, according to the Air Force.
Russian forces attacked Kyiv Oblast and Poltava Oblast with seven Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from Russia’s Bryansk and Kursk oblasts. In addition, Russia launched 189 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as Parodiya decoy drones.
“The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the military said.
According to preliminary Air Force data, as of 9 a.m., air defenses had shot down or suppressed 177 Russian targets — three ballistic missiles and 174 drones — over the north, south, center and east of the country.
Hits by four ballistic missiles and 11 strike drones were recorded at 12 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at six sites.
Aftermath of the attack
In Sumy Oblast, Russian forces struck the city of Sumy. A nine-story residential building was hit, with a drone striking the roof. According to the State Emergency Service, rescuers evacuated about 40 residents from the building. Fire hotspots were swiftly extinguished.
A Russian drone also hit a parking lot, setting one passenger car on fire. About 10 other vehicles were damaged. The State Emergency Service said no casualties had been reported there.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Russian forces struck a private home. Regional military governor Ivan Fedorov said a 55-year-old woman sought medical assistance.
In Poltava Oblast, industrial facilities in Kremenchuk district came under attack. The regional military administration said missile and drone strikes caused partial power outages. No casualties were reported to emergency services, according to governor Vitaliy Diakivnych.
At 7:41 a.m., Poltavaoblenergo said electricity supply had been restored.
In Odesa Oblast, Russian forces attacked energy and civilian infrastructure. Regional governor Oleh Kiper said several settlements in the Izmail district were temporarily left without electricity because of damage to an energy facility. Repair crews had already begun restoration work.
“Civilian infrastructure was also damaged. A cottage house caught fire as a result of the attack. Unfortunately, one person was injured,” Kiper said.

In addition, on the evening of June 25, Russian forces launched ballistic missiles at Kyiv. Two people were injured in the attack. In the city’s Darnytskyi district, warehouse buildings caught fire. At another location, missile debris fell in an open area.
