From Lviv to Kyiv: Consequences of Russia’s overnight attacks
Russian forces launched overnight attacks across Ukraine into July 30, using strategic aviation aircraft along with ballistic and cruise missiles, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
Kyiv
In Kyiv, impacts were recorded in two districts:
- in Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out on the grounds of non-residential buildings;
- in Sviatoshynskyi district, a fire broke out in a garage cooperative.
Kyiv police confirmed the death of one person, a 31-year-old man. Two other men, ages 30 and 53, were injured. Residential buildings, a market, a garage cooperative, warehouses and vehicles were damaged in the city.
Kyiv Oblast
In Kyiv Oblast, five people were injured in the Brovary district, including a minor and two women. Three of the wounded were hospitalized at a local hospital, while two received treatment at the scene.
A two-story private home was partially destroyed in the attack. Emergency services were working at the site.
Lviv
In Lviv, residential buildings on Patona and Vyhovskoho streets were damaged, and fires broke out there.
As of 10:47 a.m., the number of injured rose to 34. 15 of them, including one rescuer, were hospitalized.
People are still believed to be trapped under the rubble. A State Emergency Service rescue operation is continuing at the collapse site, and local residents are helping clear the debris.
Because of the closure of Patona Street, public transport routes were changed.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
In the outskirts of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a direct hit by an Iskander-M ballistic missile on a private house where a large family lived killed two girls, ages 5 and 12, and four adults.
A 17-year-old child was also reported dead. Another eight people were injured, including two boys, ages 6 and 15.
The search-and-rescue operation is still underway there, so the casualty toll could still rise.
Poltava Oblast
One person died as a result of a Russian strike on the Poltava district, where fires broke out in the warehouses of one of the private enterprises.
The Nova Poshta delivery company terminal was also attacked. A fire broke out there. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
