In the first reading, the Verkhovna Rada supported a draft law that provides for the permission of certain categories of imprisoned citizens to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported the co—author of the draft law No. 11079—1, Oleksiy Honcharenko, from the parliamentary hall.

Since March 2022, 54 cases of executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russian troops have been reported, Yuriy Belousov, head of the Department of the Prosecutor General's Office for Combating Crimes Committed in the Context of Armed Conflict, told public broadcaster Suspilne.
