Novorossiysk, a key Russian Black Sea port city, came under attack by naval drones and UAVs overnight into Monday, injuring three people and damaging homes, while local reports and footage indicated a fire at the Sheskharis oil terminal, according to the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters and city officials.

Sirens of the warning system sounded along Novorossiysk’s coastline overnight due to an attack by unmanned boats, city head Andrey Kravchenko reported.

According to the operational headquarters, three people were injured in the drone attack — two women and one man. They were inside one of the private homes damaged by UAV debris. The injured were hospitalized.

Reports also indicate damage to two apartment buildings and five private homes. Public transportation in Novorossiysk was temporarily suspended.

The Telegram channel Astra, citing local residents’ accounts and footage, concluded that the Sheskharis oil-loading terminal was on fire in the city. Novorossiysk residents reported explosions overnight, and footage of flames in the area of the oil terminal spread on social media.

If confirmed, this would not be the first strike on Sheskharis. The terminal is considered one of the largest oil-loading complexes for transshipment of crude oil and petroleum products in southern Russia. It is involved in supplying Russian forces fighting against Ukraine.
