Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Agency Launches ‘Forrest Gump’ Operation Involving MPs, Presidential Office Officials

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has launched a special operation dubbed “Forrest Gump” targeting an alleged criminal organization involving current and former members of parliament and senior Presidential Office officials.
NABU announced the operation on August 19, saying the alleged organization operated under the leadership of a sitting and a former Ukrainian lawmaker.
The agency said senior officials from the Presidential Office were also allegedly involved. NABU did not immediately disclose further details, saying additional information would be released later.
Ukrainian outlet ZN.UA, citing law enforcement sources, reported that the investigation involves Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra, lawmaker Vadym Stolar, former lawmaker Maksym Mykytas, as well as officials from the Justice Ministry and representatives of Sense Bank.
NABU has not publicly confirmed the involvement of the individuals named by ZN.UA.
