SBU drones set fire at Samara station in Russia that blends Urals crude oil

Drones from the SBU’s Alfa Center of Special Operations sparked a large fire at the Samara linear production and dispatch station that blends the Urals export-grade crude oil, an informed source told hromadske.

The station blends high- and low-sulfur crude from various fields to form the Urals export grade, making it a key part of Russia’s oil transport infrastructure.

Samara Oblast governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported a nighttime attack on an industrial facility in the region, saying a UAV crashed. He claimed there were no casualties.

According to preliminary Ukrainian information, SBU drones overnight into Tuesday damaged five storage tanks, each with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters, containing crude oil.

“Striking such hubs directly reduces Russia’s ability to assemble export batches of oil and fulfill contract obligations. The balance of raw materials is disrupted, logistics and storage costs rise, and the risk of supply failures grows. As a result, Russia receives ever less oil revenue it can direct to the war against Ukraine,” the source said.
